At 13th Week of Pregnancy, you’re officially finishing the last days of your first trimester. Now, you’re almost 1/3rd of the way through your pregnancy.
What to expect at 13 weeks pregnant? What’s happening inside your body?
You may notice that at 13 weeks pregnant your pregnancy symptoms may change a bit. In general, you’ll notice that you’re feeling better than previous weeks. You’ll feel less nauseous through the day but you may experience these symptoms as well:
- Increased Sex Drive
You may feel increasing sexual desire so enjoy it!
Spotting is also very common at the 13th week of pregnancy, especially after sex! But if you notice heavier bleeding, look like period blood or even heavier, call your doctor right away!
- Increase in Energy
At 13 weeks pregnant, you will feel more like yourself and you will feel noticeable increase in your energy levels
- Vaginal Discharge
This might seem a little gross, but you will notice an increased blood flow to your vagina in along with the increasing production of estrogen production.
- Breath Shortness
You may start to experience shortness of your breath at the moment which is completely normal among most pregnant women
- Breast Tenderness
At 13 weeks pregnant, you will notice some changes in the size of your breasts as they are growing bigger preparing for milk.
- Nipples Change
At 13 weeks pregnant, your nipples will become larger and turn darker.
- Visible Veins
Additionally, you will notice those blue lines that have suddenly appeared in your skin
- Decreasing Fatigue
Now, your body is doing just fine as it has adjusted to pregnancy
- Food Cravings
Take it easy on yourself, if you still have cravings for some weird food
- Mood Swings
At 13 weeks pregnant, you may feel different emotions all at once
13 weeks pregnant women are encouraged to take prenatal vitamins as the Folic Acid, but all the irony can make them feel a little constipated.
How big is your baby at 13 weeks pregnant?
Now, your baby is as large as a peach, your baby’s head is a third of his/her length. Your 13-week baby is about 2.9 inches long and weighs about .81 ounces
Here’s an important to keep in mind, don’t compare your fetus to another fetus! Although babies develop the same way and take the same road, they are growing at different paces; some are faster than others and some are slower!

Your baby’s brain is more complex now and the fingerprints are forming on their fingers, additionally, your baby has vocal cords and teeth as well. If you’re having a boy his testicles have finished developing by the 13th week of pregnancy, and if you’re having a baby her ovaries have now formed.
13 Weeks Pregnant Ultrasound
The 13th weeks of pregnancy could detect your baby’s gender, but your doctor will probably wait until the mid-pregnancy ultrasound (about 18 to 22 weeks).
