19th Week of Pregnancy is four months and about one week pregnant. In other words, you’re almost halfway can you believe it!


What to expect at 19 weeks pregnant? What’s happening inside your body?

  • Leg Cramps

This can be painful but it’s very common during the second and third trimester and in order to ease the pain just extend your leg or let your partner offers you a nice message

  • Hip Pain

You may experience hip pain especially during nights, so try to change your sleeping position from back to side and have a pillow between your knees

  • Dizziness

Your growing uterus may put extra pressure on your blood vessels; reducing the blood flow and causing you to feel dizzy

  • Stretch Marks

Most pregnant women notice some stretch marks due to the expansion of their uterus, so you’re not alone!

  • Backaches

As your uterus expands, it will put extra pressure on your lower back causing you some painful feelings

  • Increased Appetite

This is a normal pregnancy symptom as your baby demands more nourishment so don’t be shy to eat more than your usual meal you may even have a hard time staying away from the fridge!

  • Constipation

Although iron is critical during your pregnancy it could cause you constipation on the other hand

  • Hair 

If you experienced hair loss during the previous weeks, you’ll probably have shiner and fuller hair at the 19th week

  • Trouble Sleeping

Most women have trouble sleeping at this week of pregnancy so it’s recommended to change your sleeping position from back to side and adding a comfortable pillow around your stomach and in between your legs will let you sleep better

  • Headaches

Most of the pregnant women suffer from occasional headaches during their pregnancy, tell your doctor and don’t take any pills without their consult


How big is your baby at 19 weeks pregnant?

Now, your baby is as big as a mango; weighing around 8.5 ounces and measuring about 6.0 inches long!

What’s happening with your baby? (Your Baby’s Development) 

At 19 weeks pregnant, it’s possible to start adapting to your baby’s kicking or moving. Amazingly, your developing tiny baby is growing a protective coating on his or her skin called vernix caseosa which is a waxy, cream cheese-like coating.

Amazingly, babies at 19 weeks pregnant are busy developing their five senses, YES, your baby’s brain is developing all of the cells of taste, hearing, sight, and smell. At 19 weeks pregnant, your doctor can clearly see both of your baby’s internal and external body parts due to their translucent skin.  Additionally, you’ll be able to see your baby’s face and hands before seeing all clear details.

The Checklist for the 19th week of pregnancy:

  • Sign up for an infant CPR class
  • Check your blood sugar levels
  • Take photos of your bump
  • Have plenty of rest
  • Make a birth plan
  • Join a birth group
  • Avoid high-calorie and fried foods
  • Keep on eating a nutritious diet
  • Keep taking prenatal vitamins
  • Plan for your baby’s birth
  • Discuss baby names with your partner
