There may come a time when you experience the joy of pregnancy and feel the magic of a little angel growing inside you. But there are also lots of reasons this will cause you anxiety. Maybe you lack the sufficient funds for the hospital bills, or maybe you’re feeling anxious because you haven’t had a chance to go to the store to get a pregnancy test, so you haven’t been able to confirm whether it’s true or not.

If you suspect you’re pregnant but are stuck at home, there’s an easy solution for you – a homemade pregnancy test. Luckily, there are easy ways you can do a pregnancy test at home. These tests have existed and been used for hundreds of years. When done correctly, they can be effective. Listed below are three ways you can perform a home pregnancy test.

  • Urine in a Jar Test

Urine in a Jar Test

Requirements: clear jar, morning urine.

Collect your urine in the morning, then place the jar on a flat surface and let it rest for 24hours. If positive, a thin white layer will have formed on top of the urine. If negative, nothing will happen.

  • Sugar Pregnancy Test

Sugar Pregnancy Test

Requirements: sugar, a jar, morning urine.

Sugar is the cheapest way to quickly test the HCG in your urine. HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is the hormone responsible for reacting with sugar.

Place three teaspoons of granulated sugar in a jar, then urinate directly in the bowl. Give it five to ten minutes, then check. If positive, the sugar will clamp together and won’t dissolve, if negative, it will all dissolve.

  • White Vinegar Test

White Vinegar Test

Requirements: white vinegar, a clean jar, morning urine.

White vinegar is easily found in the kitchen and can also be used to test for a pregnancy.

Add half a cup of distilled white vinegar into a jar. You can get a separate bowl for urinating, then pour the urine into the jar with the vinegar. Let it rest for 3-5 minutes, then check. For a positive result, the color will change. If negative, it will not change.

When is the best time to test if you are pregnant? To get the most accurate results, its best to take your homemade pregnancy test a week after your last missed menstrual cycle. Also, it should be done in the morning.

There you go. You can now confirm your pregnancy with these three homemade pregnancy tests. For the reaction methods, you can try them anytime, but for the most accurate results, do them in the morning. Do not forget to share this information with your friends and on social media.
