32nd week of pregnancy means that you’re entering your 8th month of pregnancy. By this time, you’ll probably feel that you’re ready for your little one to be out of your tummy.

What to expect at 32 weeks pregnant? What’s happening inside your body?

At the 32nd week of pregnancy, you should be gaining an average of a pound per week. You’re probably going to have the following symptoms:

  • Braxton Hicks Contractions

You’ve experienced the Braxton Hicks contractions at mid-pregnancy for the first time. But at 32 weeks pregnant, they are going to be harder and more frequent. You’ll notice that your uterus has become very tight as your body rehearsals the labor.

  • Dizziness

By 32 weeks pregnant, you may have low blood sugar making you feel faint or dizzy. Include some Granola bars, protein-rich snacks and carb-rich snacks in your bag.

  • Constipation

By 32 weeks pregnant, your expanding uterus is putting pressure on your bowels making them irregular and giving you the feeling of discomfort. Consider yoga classes and drink plenty of water!

  • Leg Cramps

A lack of calcium or magnesium in your diet may cause you painful leg cramps in addition to the extra pounds you’re gaining each week. Therefore, ask your doctor if taking extra magnesium or calcium is a good option at this stage.

  • Colostrum (Leaky Breasts)

Due to your increasing breasts especially in the third trimester, you may also leak a yellowish fluid named Colostrum which is the producer of breast milk.

  • Darker Nipples

During the 32nd week of pregnancy, you’ll notice that your nipples become darker. There’s a theory saying that they become darker so your baby can clearly see them.

  • Shortness of Breath

Your expanding uterus is putting tons of pressure on your body including your lungs. Thus, you’ll have some difficulties in taking a full breath. Don’t worry your baby is breathing just fine.

  • Vaginal Discharge

I know this might seem a little disgusting! In fact, the increased discharge of your vagina is your body’s way to protect you by keeping you away from harmful bacteria. Besides, your body is preparing now for the big day “delivery day”.

How big is your baby at 32 weeks pregnant?

By 32 weeks pregnant, your baby will be as big as the size of a squash; measuring about 16.7 inches long and weighing around 3.8 pounds.

What’s happening with your baby? (Baby’s Development)

During the 32nd week of pregnancy, it’s highly recommended to keep eating properly as your baby’s brain continues to develop. In addition, your baby’s skeleton is fully formed now!

32 Weeks Pregnant Ultrasound

By 32 weeks of pregnancy, you’ll notice that your baby has become much calmer because there isn’t enough room inside the womb. Likely, your baby is in the head down position at this stage of pregnancy.
