So the little guy, sperm, has fertilized your egg two weeks ago!

Three weeks into your pregnancy and you may still wonder how this miracle happened! The truth is you won’t really realize it until the birth.

The 3rd week of your pregnancy means that it is more than 14 days since the 1st day of your menstrual cycle of the previous month.

Even though your baby is growing in size, many women actually lose weight at the 3rd week because of nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite is totally normal due to the hormonal changes in their bodies.

So, what’s the 3 pregnancy symptom week? What’s really happening in your body at 3 weeks pregnant?

You may be excited to notice something is different in your body, there is a little difference in your appearance, but a belly at 3 weeks pregnant is absolutely nothing to mention.

Many women experience mild cramping and increased vaginal discharge around ovulation. Ovulation is when the ovaries release a mature egg ready to get fertilized and travels through the fallopian tube direct towards the uterus. Most women notice that they have to pee, more than usual, urgently! If you are having the same symptoms, do not worry at all, this is totally normal!

Amazingly, your baby’s gender, eye color, skin color, hair color and many of other features have already been determined and the brain, head, spinal cord, and gastrointestinal tract are developing at this stage as your tiny baby is growing faster.

How big is your baby at the 3rd Week of Pregnancy?

The blastocyst, your baby’s name at this stage, is so tiny and essentially looks like a group of cells more than a baby! It is approximately at the size of the head of a pin; it varies from .2 mm to .5 mm long! Can you even imagine this?!

Right now, your tiny blastocyst is receiving oxygen and nutrients through an embryonic circulation system made up to connect your baby with the blood vessels in your uterine wall.

By the end of the 3rd week or about 5:6 days of fertilization, the blastocyst firmly implants in the thickened walls of your uterus.

So, what’s the 3 pregnancy symptom week? What’s happening in your body at 3 weeks pregnant?

At this point, most pregnant women suffer the following symptoms:

  • Cramps in the lower back
  • Bloating
  • Mood swings
  • Headaches
